Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy

The International Journal for Research in Biology & Pharmacy (IJRBP) strives to maintain high standards of scientific and academic quality through a fair, objective, and transparent peer-review process.

All manuscripts submitted to IJRBP undergo an initial editorial assessment and, where appropriate, a peer-review process to evaluate their originality, scientific quality, relevance, methodological soundness, and contribution to biological and pharmaceutical sciences.

IJRBP follows a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential from one another during the review process. This approach is intended to reduce potential bias and support an impartial assessment of submitted manuscripts.

Initial Editorial Assessment

All submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial team for suitability based on the journal's aims and scope, basic submission requirements, and overall scholarly relevance.

Manuscripts considered suitable for further consideration may be sent to qualified reviewers with appropriate subject expertise relevant to the manuscript under evaluation.

Objectives of Peer Review

The peer-review process is intended to:

  • Maintain high scientific and academic standards.
  • Promote research integrity and responsible publication practices.
  • Assess the originality and scholarly significance of the research.
  • Evaluate the scientific quality and reliability of the manuscript.
  • Identify areas where the clarity and presentation of the research can be improved.
  • Provide constructive feedback to authors.
  • Support fair and informed editorial decision-making.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of research in relevant fields.

Review Criteria

Reviewers may evaluate manuscripts according to the following criteria:

  • Originality and novelty of the research.
  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
  • Scientific significance and contribution.
  • Quality and appropriateness of the research methodology.
  • Accuracy, reliability, and clarity of the reported results.
  • Appropriate interpretation and discussion of findings.
  • Organization, structure, and clarity of the manuscript.
  • Quality and relevance of references and supporting literature.
  • Compliance with applicable ethical requirements.
  • Overall contribution to biological and pharmaceutical sciences.

Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers' comments, the editorial assessment, and the overall suitability of the manuscript, the Editor may reach one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision.
  • Minor revisions required.
  • Major revisions required; revise and resubmit.
  • Reject the manuscript.

Authors are expected to carefully consider the comments and recommendations provided by reviewers and editors. When revisions are requested, authors should revise the manuscript appropriately and provide clear responses addressing the points raised during the review process.

Final Editorial Decision

The final publication decision is made by the Editor based on the overall scientific quality, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, editorial assessment, and recommendations received during the peer-review process.

Peer-review recommendations are an important part of the editorial decision-making process, but the final decision remains the responsibility of the journal's editorial team.

Confidentiality and Research Integrity

Throughout the review process, IJRBP is committed to maintaining:

  • Confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and review information.
  • Fairness and impartiality in editorial assessment.
  • Editorial independence.
  • Research integrity and responsible scholarly communication.
  • Respect for the confidentiality of authors and reviewers.
  • High standards of scholarly and scientific quality.

The peer-review process is intended to provide constructive scholarly assessment while supporting the integrity, quality, and advancement of research in biological and pharmaceutical sciences.
