Peer Review Process

The International Journal For Research in Biology & Pharmacy (IJRBP), published by ARC Publication Services L.L.C., follows a rigorous, transparent, and ethical peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly research in biological and pharmaceutical sciences.

The journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity, fairness, confidentiality, and editorial independence throughout the review process.

Initial Submission Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Associate Editor.

During this stage, the manuscript is evaluated for:

  • Compliance with the journal’s author guidelines
  • Academic quality, clarity, and presentation
  • Originality and similarity screening

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic academic, ethical, or scope requirements may be rejected at the editorial screening stage without being sent for external peer review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

The International Journal For Research in Biology & Pharmacy (IJRBP) follows a double-blind peer review process to promote fairness, objectivity, and academic integrity in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts.

Under this system, the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers, and the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors throughout the review process. This approach helps minimize potential bias related to author identity, institutional affiliation, nationality, or other personal factors, allowing manuscripts to be evaluated primarily on their scholarly and scientific merit.

To maintain confidentiality, authors should ensure that the main manuscript does not contain unnecessary identifying information. Author details should be provided separately as required during submission.

Reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, evaluate manuscripts objectively, and avoid using, sharing, or disclosing unpublished information obtained during the review process.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with appropriate expertise in the relevant subject area. Reviewers provide constructive and evidence-based comments concerning the manuscript’s originality, scientific quality, methodology, validity, clarity, relevance, and overall contribution to the field.

The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ reports, the scientific quality of the manuscript, and the overall editorial assessment.

The journal maintains a selective acceptance policy, with an average acceptance rate of approximately 28%–30%. This rate reflects the proportion of manuscripts accepted for publication following editorial assessment, peer review, revision, and final editorial evaluation. The acceptance rate may vary from year to year depending on the number, quality, and subject relevance of submissions received.

Reviewer Recommendations

Following peer review, reviewers may provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Reviewer recommendations should be supported by clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments.

The final decision remains the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief and is based on the overall evaluation of the manuscript, reviewer comments, editorial standards, and ethical considerations.

Revision Stage

When revisions are requested:

  • Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments systematically.
  • A revised manuscript and response to reviewers should be submitted within the specified timeframe.
  • Authors should clearly indicate how each substantive reviewer comment has been addressed.
  • Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation where appropriate.

Failure to submit a revised manuscript within the specified period may result in withdrawal or closure of the submission.

Final Editorial Decision

Following completion of the peer review and revision process, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision.

A manuscript may be accepted when it meets the journal’s requirements for scientific quality, originality, relevance, presentation, and ethical compliance.

Editorial decisions are made independently and are based on the scholarly and scientific merits of the submission.

Publication Process

After acceptance:

  • The manuscript undergoes editorial preparation, copyediting, and formatting as required.
  • Authors may be provided with proofs for final verification.
  • Necessary corrections are addressed before publication.
  • The final article is scheduled for publication in the appropriate issue.

  • Revision: Approximately 1–3 weeks, depending on the extent of revisions
  • Final Editorial Decision: Generally within 6–8 weeks, where reviewer availability permits
